The result is a more functional, modern space that reflects the lifestyle and layout needs of the homeowners—while keeping the charm of their Sunshine Coast home intact.

With a young child and a new baby, this transformation focused on creating a space the family could grow into for years to come. We preserved its heritage character by keeping a traditional layout, maintaining the front two rooms as bedrooms as is typical of terrace homes. The rest of the property was thoughtfully transformed into a modern and functional space that feels timeless and livable.

This project was about more than just updating a house. The home had been in the family for generations, first belonging to the grandparents before the next generation moved in, welcoming their own child just weeks after the renovation was complete. We reconfigured the layout, working within the original foundations and brick walls, to create spaces that better suit a modern family while honouring the home’s history. The transformation focused on expanding natural light, continuing the home’s heritage character with thoughtful details, and improving accessibility to support the family’s needs at every stage of life. Every decision was made with longevity in mind, creating a home designed to grow with the family for years to come.
